COMMUNICATIONS
As a former Head of Communications at inspectorate Ofsted I am
experienced in high level public sector communications; advising boards and
senior managers, developing strategies and leading communications staff. I
advise on aspects of communications from strategic planning to crisis
management.
I have a passion for team development - building the capacity, confidence,
political skill and energy of communications’ operations.
Communications strategy
I can support your organisation across the full range of media strategy issues,
including developing clear messages, working with journalists and
maximising impact. I advise on areas such as managing a reputational risk
and preparing for difficult media appearances.
Training senior staff and comms teams
For communications teams I help them get the basics right such as the best
ways to work with journalists, how to make more effective press calls and
how to manage difficult relationships. For senior staff I advise on public
speaking, preparing for media interviews, handling high risk issues and
structuring speeches.
Corporate development
I work with the communications team, board and senior staff to analyse
communications needs, devise the right strategy and build relations between
the communications team and the rest of the organisation - a crucial but often
undervalued part of delivering effective communications.
